daughter – sister – researcher – artist – phd candidate
as a human: I was born and raised in Virginia, but home is all over (my family is in Wisconsin and as a Taos Pueblo person, I have deep ties to northern New Mexico). I am big fan of fresh vegetables, dirt, and my two cats. most of my free time is spent using my hands and making things (bread, food, pottery, knitted garments, you name it, I have probably tried it!). I am also a big sister to my two siblings and daughter to my momma and dad. my family, immediate, extended, and more than human, all play significant roles in my life.
as a researcher: my relationships with the natural world and creative practice greatly influence how I approach research. while my western academic training has given me foundational skills, i find myself returning to my worldview for motivation, guidance, and accountability.
